God Is Able.

When Our Best Isn't Enough

Does it ever feel like God is somehow removed from your life? Does it ever feel like the only thing you can see is just overwhelming darkness over every area of your life? Is there too much month left at the end of the money? Are there people at every turn who just wish you the worst? Do you feel like no matter what you do, every situation that you put your hands towards will fail. Depression, anxiety, fear of the unknown, these are all things that people genuinely struggle with. But through all that God is God and God is good to see you through to the other side.

When circumstance’s arise in our lives although the situations may vary I believe we have two choices as Christians. Move forward and trust in God or throw ourselves into a panic and forget who God is. If I where to be honest there have been times where I have done both. I remember time after time getting overwhelmed as one thing after another just piled up in my life. I also remember times of peace that led to victory as I chose to trust in God.

You may have figured this out already, but whenever the enemy is trying to take our courage or take our faith away he likes to try to do one particular thing, he likes to take our focus off of God and tries to get us to focus on ourselves and our problems. “I should be making X amount of dollars a year”, “I should have seen that person that I have been ministering to come to God by now”, “I should be the boss, after all I am better qualified for the job!”. This is a common method of attack when it comes to our enemy. Praise God for His word though, I’m amazed at how literally every question I have, every thought that I have, every concern I have in regards to life’s problems is contained in the word of God.

1 Peter 5:9

“Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”

You see the enemy is a liar, that is something we say but not something that a lot of us actually understand fully. The truth is, you are not the only one going through what you are going through, and no matter how hard it is, someone, somewhere has overcome the exact same type of situation that you have been dealing with and has come out on the other side victorious. Let me encourage you, keep your faith in God, the One who will never waiver from your side. He will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6), as a matter of fact He has give us all authority over the enemy to overcome him (Luke 10:19)!

I personally believe that throughout time, people have dumbed down God’s promises and His word and have given into their own insecurities so much, that now the enemy has convinced a lot of us that the Bible is nothing more then a really old book that we need to read every day for five minutes in order to go to heaven! That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. God’s word is alive and holds the keys to you breaking depression, or anxiety or fear or sickness. It holds the answers, so why are we not believing that? David knew where his strength came from, in Psalm 62 He wrote “For God alone, my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”

In closing know where your strength comes from, if you have a hard time getting into the word, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand and bring things to life for you. The enemy wants to keep you as far away from the word as possible, because if he can, he can keep you stupid, he can keep you uninformed and he can keep you enslaved. Let’s make sure that 2016 is the year that everything turns around, because it is the year that we shut our T.V’s our phones and our own though patterns and open up God’s word to see what He has to say! Amen.

God Is Able.
