So it is always a nice thing to be able to start off your week with some brand new stuff from the iTunes store, this week my shopping cart looking a little weird. I covered a very broad range but hey variety is the spice of life…
First into the shopping cart was Trip Lee’s new album entitled “Rise”. I remember streaming the album on Friday and talking with the music department about it, this is a very interesting album, released after Trip Lee was rumoured to be retired and filled with a bunch of unconventional sounds, but hey that’s Hip Hop for you!
Second up on the list something that probably a lot of people would not expect to see on the shopping list of a late night radio host…The Bait Of Satan Audio book by John Bever. I don’t know who it was that did this study but apparently in the average persons commute too and from work each day you spend the same amount of time in your car as someone taking a college course. So I like to spend my time wisely. Honestly one of my favourite things to do is listen to teachings, it is one thing to go to church every single Sunday, it does another thing for your walk to listen to a sermon twice a day
Lastly, I bought Taylor Swifts new Album 1989, because hey Lord knows I like me some Taylor Swift…
Before I sign off for the week I want to close things off with something that I noticed that will hopefully bring you as much encouragement as it did with me, so there was this job that I worked at a long time ago, and I worked really really hard at what I did, not only when people where watching but also behind closed doors I worked and did things knowing that no one would ever see the good that I did and a lot of the time I would not get paid for these things I did, I did them just because I knew that it would honor God, I did my work unto God, now I am not telling you this to boost myself up because frankly that is not the type of person I am, I think that humility is best, but I remember leaving that job for actually my job at life 100.3, and as soon as I left the department that I was in fell into turmoil, people where arguing there was no peace it was just aweful, and then it hit me, the blessing and the prosperity of the Lord goes with his people and effects whatever they touch, I honored God and put him first so he exulted everything that I put my hands to but when I left people did not choose to walk in that same light so it left, so let me encourage you, wherever you go and in all that you do honor God first above all, set a standard and don’t compromise, and all that you do and all that you touch will be blessed.
Colossians 3:23 – Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord

Now if you are a fan of my show, you know that every single Wednesday night we do things a little bit differently, Pastor Andrew comes into the studio and we have Ask The Pastor.
Honestly I love the hour, one of the things that made me a little bit hesitant of hosting the slam was the fact that I was no longer able to attend any week night studies, but alas all has been solved with ask the pastor.
List of things I love most about ask the pastor:
Teasing Pastor Andrew
Teasing Pastor Andrew
But in all seriousness, it is so nice to be able to talk about things that matter, so many times ( and I’m not bashing other stations ) I would be driving at night and hear the same Katy Perry song over and over again or talk about Kim Kardashians butt, that being said, it is nice to have conversations with people about things that really matter. Neither myself or Pastor Andrew claim to have all the answers but it is just so nice to be able to talk with people about things that really matter.
Talk to you this Wednesday at 8pm!
So today where I am from it was a little bit rainy, which automatically results in people driving slower which makes for a lot of fun because that usually means traffic, now I don’t want to rant about how much traffic sucks because hey I think we are beyond that, is it not universally accepted. No, what I want to talk about is how ridiculous people are when they are experiencing road rage. I remember someone told me a story were they where driving with someone and it was late at night so they where sleeping and they woke up because the driver was livid that the person behind them was following a little too close, and this person was going on and on about how he wanted to get out of the vehicle and punch the guy in the face Mr. Chan style.
I remember, and this could be just my overactive imagination being exercised, but I remember this woman just sitting in her car in traffic gripping the steering wheel like there was no tomorrow and just screaming and shaking back and forth, it was pretty hilarious, people need to R E L A X. Next time you’re just sitting in traffic look around people are pretty intense. 🙂
